The guy who works at Teahouse Noodles on Murray Hill makes going there such a fun experience!  He refuses to let you call the sauce Coco-Ginger, especially when jazz is playing in the restaurant.  He comes up with the tastiest combinations if you leave it up to him!  Yum!  We had dinner for 3 for under $20.

I am so thankful that I have new students and another chance to work with the new French 2 book!  So far, my students seem very nice and more interested in working with me than my first semester freshmen.  I will miss teaching French 4, but I am SO grateful to only have 2 preps this semester.  I can already feel the difference in my stress level!

l'examen final

I got my French 4 final exam completed from home!  Sent it to the copy center from my computer.  I stayed home today because the weather was bad - not sure if I made the right decision, but it's so hard to tell at 5:30 in the morning.  I heard my sub was a real treat!  I can't wait to hear the stories on Monday!

Thank God that Jon Stewart is back on the air!  Now if only our cable company would broadcast Comedy Central in HD . . .

rotisserie chicken

Whoever invented rotisserie chicken is a genius!  It's quick, easy and delicious!  We have it at least once a week and today was one of the those days!  Yum! 

let it snow

One of the good things about my job is that I can accrue sick days for years.  I now have 180 and I used one yesterday to stay home with Calvin.  The weather was terrible on our side of town and I did not want to drive with my son in the back seat.  We had a nice day staying cozy in the house.  We baked cupcakes and put together puzzles.

Today I am thankful for a career that allows me to spend so much time with my family.  I am going back to work tomorrow after a two week Winter Break.  I'm sad, but realize how fortunate I am.  It was a wonderful vacation with my family!

Friends

Today I am thankful for the fabulous friends that have brought so much joy to my life!  We spent the afternoon and evening with Dan and Silvia and their beautiful daughter, Grace.  I miss working with Dan, but we've managed to maintain our friendship, which means the world to me.

Happy New Year! 2010 will be the year that I focus on what is really important in my life and remember to be thankful for all the blessings that I have received in this life. Today, Mom and Earl, and Auntie and Uncle came to our house to have pork and sauerkraut and watch the Ohio State Buckeyes win the Rose Bowl. The weather was not really cooperating, but they made it and we had a great evening. I am so thankful for my family - not just Harry and the Pickle, but my extended family, especially my mom. I have the best mom in the whole world and history of moms and I love her so much! I am so lucky!
